Last week I had the pleasure of presenting at the FAMENET - Fisheries and Aquaculture Monitoring, Evaluation and Local Support Network Annual Meeting in Brussels, showcasing the work we are doing at Iceland Ocean Cluster around the
#100percentFish programme and the opportunities it holds. I also got to put the spotlight on Havdis as one of the high potential examples of utilising byproducts for high value creation, contributing to all pillars of the triple bottom line.

It's a fascinating meeting to be part of, bringing together the national managing authorities of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (
#EMFAF) with DG MARE from the European Commission. It's always amazing to see the appetite for new ideas, and conversations like these often become the building blocks for future collaboration.

As someone originally from Hungary, I was happy to see interest from Hungary's fishery sector in using more of each fish. Hungary has a long history with fish. Fun fact: it has had fish ponds since the Middle Ages, and Hungarians eat more carp per person than anyone else in the EU. That is a huge opportunity for value creation once the byproducts of carp farming are put to good use.
